The account of the deceased person can exert different emotions. For some, it may seem controversial, immoral, and for
“In memoriam” means that all previous user activities remain unchanged, and nobody can log in to the account, even if they know the password. The profile is marked in a special way and will never appear in “suggested friends”. It is also impossible to modify its content.
To transfer your account to the “In memoriam” state, a special request must be sent to the portal, available at this address. After receiving the application, the portal administrators decide if it is credible enough. A death certificate is required for verification. Facebook believes that this is essential information that protects your accounts from stupid jokes.
Of course, introducing “In memoriam” is not the only option. The account after the owner’s death can be managed by another person, if we give it the rights earlier. To do this, you must choose “account manager”. This can be done in the general settings, after expanding the option “Manage account”.
In this case, even after marking the profile, the person will be able to insert posts on the board or accept new friends.
If both of these options do not fit us, we can verify our relationship with the deceased person. If the portal confirms them, we can delete the account of the deceased person. For many, it will be the most reasonable solution.
