The Russians were not satisfied with Apple's earlier approach to the issue of Crimea (and Sevastopol). At that time, these territories were designated as parts of Ukraine, which of course did not please the citizens of the country that invaded Poland's eastern neighbor. At the moment, Crimea and Sevastopol already belong to Russia in the Weather and Maps applications, however … this change is limited only to those users who live in Russia. Everything else sees a slightly different map of the world.

Recall, in 2014, the Russians invaded the area and annexed, despite opposition from international organizations and the heads and governments of other countries. Since then, Russia and Ukraine have generally been at war – in the east there are still military incidents. The dispute has still not been resolved, but it cannot be said that particularly aggressive activities on both sides are taking place in connection with this matter.
